Benin Police Arrests 14 JSS Students For Alleged Cultism

The police in Edo State have arrested 14 Junior Secondary School students over their alleged involvement in cult-related activities in Benin, the state capital. It was learnt that the students, aged between 12 and 15, were nabbed when a crack team of policemen stormed Oguola Secondary School at Saint Saviour in Ikpoba Okha Local Government Area of the state last Thursday. No fewer then 56 persons had been arrested by the Nigeria Police for cult-related activities ‎in the state. According to a source in the school, eight of the suspects were apprehended at flash spots within the school compound. Their arrest, it was learnt, had prompted the police to conduct a search on some students in the classrooms, where items believed to be emblems of notorious cult groups were recovered from them. Fake Soldier & Suspected Boko Haram Member Arrested In Bauchi (Photos)

The Nigerian Army have arrested a fake soldier and a suspected member of Boko Haram sect, identified as Aliyu Hussaini (pictured above). According to the Army, Aliyu is an Impostor who has been parading himself as a Brigadier General in the Nigerian Army and was fraudulently collecting money from people. A statement by the Nigerian Army says Aliyu Hussaini is a sponsor and also a member of the Boko Haram Terrorist organisation. He was arrested alongside an accomplice, one Ibrahim Mohammed who is also known as Yuram. The two suspects were arrested at New GRA behind the Deputy Governor’s House in Bauchi Metropolis, and the following items were recovered from them: two Nokia, a Samsung hand set and a Techno handset, one MTN sim card and a Peugeot 406 vehicle with registration number AU 222 BWR (Abuja).

Nigerian Air Force Acquires Sophisticated Aircraft To Protect Nigeria

The Nigerian Air Force has recorded some giant strides in the last one year leading to the current successful onslaught against Boko Haram terrorists in every part of the North East where they have hitherto held sway. Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshall Adesola Amosu said some of these was in the area of continuation of fleet, logistics and infrastructural renewal, which include acquisition of new aircraft like the King Air 350, Mi- Series Helicopter Gunship, UAVs and DA-42 Diamond Aircraft. Speaking on the celebration of 51st anniversary of the force in Abuja, which also marks his second anniversary as the 19th Chief of the Air Staff, Amosu said “I am happy to inform you that so much have been achieved for the NAF within the period under review.” In addition, he said the NAF have successfully installed and programmed newly acquired Harris 7850 multiband radios in the North East to aid operations against insurgency. Two Nigerians Sent To 12 years In Prison In Vietnam For Email Fraud (Photo)

A Vietnamese court has sentenced two Nigerian men, Christian Nnadike, 34, and Collins Deke, 37, (pictured above) to 12 years each in a Vietnam prison for hacking into emails of local companies, contact the company’s foreign partners and swindle them of their money. The men along with a Vietnamese female accomplice, Le Thi Kim Quyen, 35, who was sentenced to 15 years in prison and another Nigerian, de facto husband of the Vietnamese lady, Mark Mamado Abdallah, 39, who is currently at large, ran a scamming syndicate in Vietnam. At the court hearing which took play in April, the men and their accomplice were also found guilty of another fraud scheme in which they pretended to be a British friend of two Vietnamese women on Facebook and asked them to send money as shipping fees to receive gifts. According to prosecutors, the group defrauded many unsuspecting victims of over VND3.3 billion (US$150,000) between April and August 2013. Most of this came from the email hack
