Advice:- To Succeed, You Need More Than Luck - Jonathan Speaks

Most times when we are about to write examinations or embark on an important mission, we are often wished ‘luck.’ Often times, that phrase has been abused and substituted for hard work. Perhaps this was what President Goodluck Jonathan had in mind when he said that education rather than ‘luck,’ is the foundation for success.



He made this remark today when he commissioned the Jigawa State Academy for the Gifted at Bamaina in Birnin-Kudu.

The President said “Some journalist used to ask me about luck and I told them that as much as there is luck, education is the major determinant of success. I could not have been where I am today if am not educated. You have to prepare yourself. So I am happy that Governor Lamido has decided to invest in the future of our children by identifying those with gift and training them. We are at the Federal level are also sending those with first class to the best training centres in the world so that they can come back develop our country.”

He said education is the basis for development in the modern world adding that without education even our agriculture will stagnate because obsolete techniques.

Earlier in his address, Jigawa state Governor, Sule Lamido, revealed that his vision for establishing the school is to develop manpower that will transform the state in the future adding that the school is part of the transformation agenda of President Jonathan.
